Wine-like acidity

Litha Light is our midsummer roast, poured for the longest, brightest days of the year. Nyeri County’s red volcanic soil and high elevation - this lot is grown around 1,800 meters - are part of why Kenyan coffee commands a reputation few other origins match. The SL28 and SL34 varietals grown here are prized specifically for the intense fruit acidity they produce.

Washed and sun-dried on raised beds, this coffee delivers a blackcurrant sharpness up front, a grapefruit-peel brightness through the middle, and a finish that genuinely reads as wine-like. It’s not a subtle cup - if you want a coffee that announces itself, this is it.

Brewing notes

Pour-over is the clearest showcase for the acidity here. Grind medium-fine, brew hot (94–96°C), and don’t be afraid of a slightly shorter extraction - this coffee doesn’t need much time to give you everything it has.
